| Our
Director is Susan Kegley
Susan became Pacific Sound's front line
director in January, 2007 and
brings a wealth of experience and expertise in Sweet Adelines. Susan began singing barbershop in 1980
with the Sound Cities Chapter in Everett, WA, and since has sung with
numerous
choruses and quartets since, including the 2001 International Chorus
Champions San Diego Chorus. She
also just happens to be one of Pacific Sound's founding members!
Susan has competed as a quartet member in
nearly 20 regional and 7
internationals contests, singing all 4 voice parts (not at once, of
course!)...not to mention the
crown she earned as a Queen of Harmony with the 2001 International
Championship Quartet, A Cappella
Gold. She currently sings bass with
LiveWire, the 2010 Region 13
Championship Quartet. She has been a director, an interim director, an assistant
director and on the music education staff and many other committees during her Sweet
Adelines career. In addition, Susan is an Approved Candidate Judge in
the Music Category, as well as a budding arranger and member of the DCP
program. Whew!
Makes you tired just to read about it!
In Susan's other
life, she is a registered nurse and is married to a very supportive
husband, Jack.
Pacific Sound is thrilled to
have Susan as our front line director! We know we will
be making beautiful music together for years to come.
Our Team Leader is
Pam Rivard
Pam,
a vocalist since birth, is one of SAI's many late bloomers,
barbershop style-wise. She walked through the doors of Pacific Sound
Chorus four years ago during a hiatus from
Columbia Choir's
Con Brio, and has been rolling in overtones ever since! Six
months after joining, Pam competed with PSC Internationally in
Vegas; three months later she was invited to sing in Spare Parts,
Too! Quartet, where monthly gigs are the name of the game.
With the growing performance culture
PSC is embracing, Pam's worked in a variety of capacities, most
recently taking on show chair for PSC's pre-Regional April show. She
is a member of PSC's music learning team, a section leader and PSC's
music acquisition archivist, and is honored to have been asked to
steer PSC's Management Team. In the leadership arena, the past eight
years working for Weight Watcher has honed her team building skills;
she mentors and provides feedback one-on-one to countless
individuals on a weekly basis. A former career as an aerobic dance
instructor had her leading and monitoring very large groups of
individuals. Parenting three children to adulthood has given her
plenty of opportunities to promote personal and professional growth,
giving full support and acknowledgement to the abilities and
follow-through of all. She's facilitated, mentored and been docent
to a wide variety of educational groups, chaperoned many; most
recently a group of 90 through Italy on a choir tour.
A Seattle-ite married to a Canadian,
Pam's extended family is sprinkled throughout Washington,
Pennsylvania, British Columbia and Alberta. Her hobbies include
square and round dancing, and participating annually with the
Pacific Northwest Teen Square Dance Festival as chief scorekeeper
with her very supportive husband, Marcel. Having raised two
independent daughters, their son--and youngest--enters Woodinville
High School in the fall.
